Spring 2017 Registration is Open

RETURNING PLAYERS will be a guaranteed a spot in the league if you fully registered and paid (see below) by Friday, March 17, 2017. Registration will be open to new players starting on March 18, 2017 and will be open until all of the rosters are filled on a first come, first served basis. The cost of the season if registered and paid prior to March 23, 2017 will be a single payment of $225. After March 23, 2017 the registration cost will increase by $25.

Payment can be made via PayPal or check after registering on the website. Checks should be made out to the Geezer Hockey League and placed in our drop box outside the west rink at the Steel Ice Center or can be sent to the league treasurer, Mike Cacace at 5645 Mountain Laurel Drive, Coopersburg, PA 18036. If you are NOT registering via the GHL website, copies of the registration form and your USA Hockey number should be placed in the drop box or sent electronically to me (scottg99@ptd.net).

In order for your registration to be complete you must:
1) Completed online registration (via the website) or provided a hard copy of the registration form.
2) Provided a VALID 2016/2017 USA hockey number.
3) Paid in Full (PayPal or check) – the PayPal link is provided after registering on the website.
4) Have zero balance due from prior seasons.

Evaluations will be March 19th at 6 PM and are mandatory for new players joining the league. The evaluations will consist of a few basic hockey drills followed by open hockey. Please email me if you are planning on attending the evaluation session.

The season will start on April 2nd and will consist of 8 regular season games and at least 1 playoff game per team (minimum of 9 games). The schedule is below:

March 19th —> Evaluations for New Players Joining the League
April 2nd —> GHL Spring 2017 Opening Night
April 16th —> No Games - Easter
May 14th —> No Games - Mother’s Day
May 28th —> No Games - Memorial Day Weekend
June 18th —> GHL Playoffs
June 25th —> GHL Championship Games

We are anticipating there will be three divisions T0, T1 and T2. Most games will continue to be on Sundays with a possibility of a very limited number of Saturday games (based on rink’s availability). All divisions will consist of traditional GHL league play format. Division placement will be based upon a players ratings, which are adjusted each season by the Player Committees prior to the team drafts or based on the evaluation skate for new players.
